Day 01

Still life Drawing/Painting

10.00 am - 12.30 pm

The first day will be a day of gently absorbing the surroundings and the atmosphere. This will be reflected in a still life drawing/painting. Students will start with some fun warm up sketches ie. drawing with the non dominant hand and then working in one line. When the students are comfortable we will move into drawing using oil pastels and chalk pastels.

Day 02

Landscape art

10.00 am - 12.30 pm

The second day will be drawing and painting outside absorbing the beautiful landscape. This will be an opportunity for students to draw in a realistic way and then if they feel comfortable to work with abstract concepts and colour. At the end of this session we will collect 'found objects' to work from on the following day.

Day 03

Sculpture

10.00 am - 12.30 pm

The third day will be creating a sculpture from the found objects. The sculpture can represent the influences of the surrounding countryside, the holiday, feelings or can simply be something more realistic like a tree. This is an opportunity to push one's previous concepts and boundaries surrounding art and to really let go and have fun. Should there be time students will draw from the sculptures created.

Day 04

Imagination

10.00 am - 12.30 pm

The fourth art work shop will encompass colour, the landscape and imagination. We will produce 4 paintings. The first will be the surrounding countryside in the morning. The second image showing the landscape at midday. The third image will be the landscape in the afternoon and the final image, the landscape in the evening. This is an opportunity to build atmosphere and various degrees of light into an image. Students will use their imagination rather than working round the clock so to speak! However if students wish to paint all day they are most welcome.

Note from the artist

At the end of each day's drawing/painting workshop there will be an opportunity to discuss and encourage each other's work. This framework proves to be marvelously supportive and inspiring.
